BEFORE YOU READ THE LEGAL TEXT
Legal texts tend to be long and hard to read.
This one is no exception — but we wanted to help.
Just below you will find a short summary of each section, in plain language.
If you want to read the full detailed text, it is further down, under
"Full Legal Text".
PLAIN LANGUAGE SUMMARY
Copyright
This site and all its content — texts, concepts, and the structure of the ALA
system — are the work of Alberto Nieto Barbas. You are welcome to read it and
share it meaningfully, but you may not reproduce it or use it as your own
without explicit permission.
Legal Notice
Universoala.com is a personal project, not a company. The person responsible
is Alberto Nieto Barbas, based in Catalunya. If you have any questions,
write to us at info@universoala.com.
Privacy
If you write to us — either through the contact form or directly by email —
we keep your name and email address so we can reply to you. That is all that
is required.
The form also includes an optional country or region field, in case you would
like to share where you are writing from. It is entirely voluntary.
Optionally, you can give us permission to send you communications about ALA
events and content — such as webinars or new publications. On the form, there
is a separate optional checkbox for this. If you write directly by email, we
will ask you in our reply. Always our own content, never third-party. And you
can unsubscribe at any time by writing to info@universoala.com.
Cookies
This site uses analytics cookies (Google Analytics) to understand how many
people visit us and where they come from. These are not advertising cookies.
When you first visit, we will ask for your permission before activating them.
If you want to read the full details of any of these sections,
they are set out below.

3.1 What data we collect and for what purpose
This website collects personal data through two channels:
a) Website contact form: name and email address are collected. The form
also includes an optional country or region field, which the user may
complete voluntarily.
b) Direct email to info@universoala.com: the data included by the user in
their message is collected (at minimum, the email address used to write).
In both cases, processing has two distinct purposes, each with its own consent:
Primary purpose (required in both channels):
To manage and respond to the enquiry received. In the case of the web form,
the country or region field — if completed by the user — is used solely to
understand the approximate geographical distribution of people who contact
the project. It is not used to identify the user and is not combined with
other data.
Secondary purpose (optional — separate consent):
To send communications about ALA's own events and content, such as webinar
invitations or publications. Communications are exclusively from ALA —
never from third parties and never for advertising or commercial purposes.
Consent for the secondary purpose is collected separately depending on the channel:
- Web form: via a separate optional checkbox on the form.
- Direct email: via explicit confirmation from the user in response to a
question included in the owner's reply.
The user may accept the primary purpose without accepting the secondary purpose,
through either channel.
3.2 Legal basis for processing
Processing is based on the user's consent, given freely, specifically and
informedly:
For the primary purpose:
- Web form channel: consent given by ticking the required checkbox on the
contact form. - Direct email channel: consent implied by the act of writing to the owner
with an enquiry.
For the secondary purpose (ALA communications):
- Web form channel: separate consent given by ticking the optional checkbox
on the form. - Direct email channel: consent given by explicit confirmation from the user
in response to the question included in the owner's reply.
In both cases, consent for the secondary purpose may be withdrawn at any time
by writing to info@universoala.com.
3.3 Data retention
Retention varies depending on the purpose:
a) Primary purpose (managing the enquiry): data is retained for as long as
necessary to handle the enquiry and, where applicable, for the legally
established period to address any responsibilities arising from processing.
b) Secondary purpose (ALA communications): data is retained until the user
withdraws their consent. Once a user requests removal, their data is
deleted from the communications list without delay.
3.4 Recipients
Data is not shared with or transferred to third parties, except where legally
required.
No international data transfers are made.
3.5 User rights
The user may exercise the following rights at any time: access, rectification,
erasure, objection, restriction of processing and data portability.
To exercise these rights, simply send an email to info@universoala.com stating
the right you wish to exercise.
The user also has the right to lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data
Protection Agency (www.aepd.es) if they consider that the processing of their
data does not comply with applicable legislation.
3.6 Applicable legislation
The processing of personal data is carried out in accordance with Regulation
(EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Organic Law 3/2018 on Personal Data Protection and
Digital Rights Guarantee (LOPDGDD).
